Wow, where did October go?
I cannot believe how quickly October flew by after the past few months of slow movement and craziness. I am grateful that we are almost to the end of 2020 and am hoping for a less chaotic 2021.
As you know, our 2020 campaign is underway and donations have started to come in. We are already at over 20% of our $360,000 goal and are hoping to exceed it to help more of our neighbors in need. Here are the HEALTH programs that are being supporting with the funds raised this year. We will share the Education programs with you next month or you can visit our website at any time to view all the programs supported.
I was able to sit down with our 2020 Campaign Chairs, J.R. & Heather Jones last week and wanted to share our discussion with you all. We are so lucky to have them on our team! View the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4XhScJxlp8&feature=youtu.be
I understand that this campaign is coming at a difficult time for many. COVID-19 is spreading throughout our community and a heaviness has settled again in our little corner of the world. United Way is still here to help.
Our COVID-19 Relief Fund has been making a difference. We have used funds raised from businesses and individuals to help organizations and schools who have taken on the burden of those affected the most during the pandemic. See who has received funding here. The Relief Fund goes 100% to relief efforts in Williams County. You can still donate to this fund here.
Together, we will overcome this health and economic crisis. We're rebuilding for a better, more equitable and more resilient community. The tough work that will be needed to help communities recover is the very work United Way does every day. It is critical that we prepare for, respond to, and ultimately help Williams County emerge stronger from this. We are in this for the long haul, bringing people together to help us all to recover, rebuild, and thrive. Now more than ever, United Way needs your support to do what we do best in the aftermath of disasters -- help our county respond, recover, rebuild, and reimagine for the long-term.
The fight is not over.
Help us as we continue to reimagine and rebuild our communities.
Always the best,
Chasity Yoder
